The program’s mission is to prepare students for entrance to a four-year college/university and careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and teaching. The Summer Scholars Program is one component of the NC-MSEN Pre-College Program and is designed to provide mathematics and science enrichment to its students with a primary goal to prepare students for their upcoming mathematics class. Students who are currently in the 12th grade are not eligible to participate in the Summer Scholars Program. The NC-MSEN Pre-College Program will admit a limited number of underserved students for its Summer Scholars Program on a first-come first-serve basis. Courses will be taught in mathematics, science, and robotics for middle school students while courses in mathematics, science, communications, robotics, and career awareness will be taught for high school students.

Students who are non-members and who are applying to our Summer Scholars program are also applying to our year-round program. Students must be willing to commit to participating in our year round program. The year round program consists of 10 Saturdays (Enrichment Classes from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Fall and Spring), MSEN Day (State Math & Science Competition), our Annual Awards Day and any other required events during the year. Please view our online calendar of events for a sample of our yearly events.
